Seen on Facebook: "Healthy Black Women and Girls" Image by Non-Profit GirlTrek

This organization is promoting activities that promote healthy diet and exercise for African-American women.

Gotta love this picture. What an inspiration of what we were, what we are and what we can be.

As of 7:50 a.m. Thursday, the non-profit organization GirlTrek.com has received 251 "Likes" on Facebook and more than 100 comments on this picture alone. The group's Facebook fan page, Healthy Black Women and Girls, had 20,340 "Likes."

According to the organization's website, GirlTrek is a national non-profit movement that inspires and organizes Black girls and women—whose communities are most at risk - to live healthier, more fulfilled lives.

Eighty percent of Black women are overweight, according to GirlTrek. Scientists predict that 100% will be overweight by 2034. Being overweight, a site page states, increases your risk for heart disease, diabetes, stroke and many cancers.
