Tune In: Spelman's Live Web Chat on Advancing the Health of Black Women, 11/1

Great forum with a smart panel of professionals and health advocates.

(the following is a press release from Spelman College for the entire community)

On Nov. 1 at 1 p.m., on Spelman.edu, Spelman College President Beverly Daniel Tatum and Valerie Montgomery Rice, M.D., dean and executive vice president, Morehouse School of Medicine, will participate in a live web chat on "Advancing the Health of Black Women." Moderated by Mo Ivory, C'91, on-air personality, "The Ryan Cameron Morning Show" on V-103 and host of "The Mo Ivory Show" on 1380 WAOK, this conversation will explore health disparities plaguing Black women and solutions for eating better, moving more and sleeping well.

Nov. 1 marks the one year anniversary of the launch of the Wellness Revolution at Spelman and the start of National Diabetes Month. Type II diabetes has become a public health epidemic, and African-American women are among the most vulnerable, more than twice as likely to develop diabetes and other chronic illnesses as women of other ethnic groups.

Tweet your questions during the conversation using the hashtag #SpelmanWellness.
