This Adamsville neighborhood school operates under the motto, "We're Miles Above The Rest." Leonora Precious MilesMore Elementary opened in 1907 with an enrollment of 73 students. According to the school website, it was the first school for African-American students in the Adamsville and Boulder Park communities. Miles has been recognized as a Georgia Title I Distinguished School. By 2012, the school hopes to eliminate the state achievement gap, with at least 40% of its students exceeding Georgia CRCT testing standards.

The school will receive reading materials to encourage reading. Adamsville offers several research-based programs including specialized instruction in science and social studies for grades three to five and single-gender homerooms for the fifth grade. The Adamsville main goal is to have all of its students meet or exceed CRCT testing standards in every subject.

After twenty years of helping students succeed, Discovery Tutorial Services founder Pam Dowell is proud of the goodMore fight she fought to be the first establishment in Georgia to add ‘Tutorial Services’ to the educational registry. Discovery Tutorial After-School Program has a computer lab for research, offers homework assistance, and help to improve test-taking strategies for the ITBS, CRCT, and GKAP. The school has offers transportation/pick-up only service, healthy after school snacks and a Summer Camp Program.
