The Outdoor Activity Center is part of the West Atlanta Watershed Alliance. Through educational programs aboutMore ecology, conservation and the natural environment, the center involves people of all ages in environmental issues. It offers a 26-acre urban natural environment filled with team-building rope courses, nature-themed playground, 2 miles of trails and learning facilities. The facilities include a tree-house classroom, 650-gallon freshwater aquarium, community-run garden and multi-purpose building.
Outdoor Activity Center

Located just a few miles west of Downtown Atlanta, the Outdoor Activity Center's motto is "Where Atlanta meets the UrbanMore Forest." The center, operated by the West Atlanta Watershed Alliance, covers 26 acres and has more than three miles of hiking trails. In addition to serving as a meeting place for community organizations and environmentalists, the OAC includes a team-building roes course, children's playground, tree house classroom, 650-gallon freshwater aquarium and a community vegetable garden. A major focus of the site is youth environmental education. The OAC offers 45-minute "interpretive" hikes, lectures, field trips and a Junior Naturalist Program. The site of the OAC has historical significance as the practice location of the Atlanta Black Crackers, the city's Negro Baseball League team from 1919 to 1952. Southside Day Care Center Phase II

A full-service early learning and day care center offering the Georgia pre-k and after-school programs for childrenMore ages 6 weeks to 13 years old. The center uses the "high reach" curriculum for learning a variety of communication and personal interaction skills. Science, math and English classes are offered based on age levels.  

Other activities include computer lab time, Spanish language, drama, ballet, modern and African dance classes. A fenced-in outdoor recreation facility includes a variety of recreational slides, swings and a mini race cart track. The staff is trained in childhood development and certified in CPR.

It offers pick-up services for after-school care within a limited range. After-school care is offered for school aged children from 3pm until 6:30pm. In addition, the center is equipped with state-of-the-art surveillance technology to monitor the outdoor premises and class activities.

Payment accepted include money order, check and child care and parent services (GACAPS)

Tucson Trail Park is located in the heart of an established subdivision at Tucson and Santa Rosa in Southwest Atlanta.More The City of Atlanta Parks and Recreation Division manage the park.  Although the lap and kiddy pool is open only during the summer between Memorial and Labor Day, the community enjoys a ball field that boasts a multitude of little league activity. With a large gazebo and two playground areas in walking distance, many residents enjoy outdoor cooking, birthday parties and hours playtime until the sun goes down. 
Kid's Time Learning Center #2

Kid's Time Learning Center #2 is a full-service early learning and day care center for children 6 weeks to 12 years old.More After school care is offered for school-aged children from 3:00 pm until 6:30 pm. The center offers the "high reach program" where children are taught communication skills and how to interact with others at home and their environment. The program is designed to build character, courage and manners. Other activities include Taekwondo and Spanish. The center has ample free parking, multiple classrooms, as well as fenced outdoor recreation facilities that include a jungle gym.
Ben Hill Park

There is always something to do at the Ben Hill Park and Recreation Center, located on Fairburn Road, just south ofMore Campbellton Road.

Known as "The Home of the Tigers," the park features one of a handful of covered outdoor basketball courts in the city -- ideal for play on rainy days. In addition to the basketball court, the park features a pavilion, playground, two tennis courts and three ball fields.

The recreation center houses a gymnasium, kitchen, game room, dance studio, weight room, computer lab, conference rooms and locker rooms. The site offers classes and activities for all ages, including dance, bridge, computer basics and karate (see recent flyer PDF posted on this page).
