The urban green space is home to a basketball court, playground, gazebo and benches for reading or an outdoor lunch break. A tile collage by artist Jimoh Buraimoh entitled "A Meeting of Elders," makes the park a public intown gallery space, too.
This 11.2-acre park is home to two tennis courts, a softball field, playground, pavilion and walking trail. Known as…More "The Rec" during the 1970s, the park has a center named for neighborhood sports legend Anthony Flanagan, who worked at the center and attended The University of Georgia on both a football and basketball scholarship in 1974. Flanagan was the first African-American quarterback at the school.
In addition to offering green space for the Cascade Heights community, West Manor Park provides several sports and community services including ALTA and USTA tennis teams and a Future Seekers Inc. after-school and summer program for young women ages 13-17.
