The APD has charged Lorenzo Montgomery, 18, with involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct in the Wednesday incident.
UPDATE: 1:01 pm, March 29, 2012 The AJC is reporting that the name of the three-year-old child shot to death in Cascade Wednesday afternoon has been identified. According to reports, Takira Garlington was visiting her grandmother's house when the incident occurred. Bond has also been denied for the man arrested in the incident, Lorenzo Montgomery, 18, who is currently being held in Fulton County Jail. Police said the driver was ejected from his vehicle and died at the scene.
A driver was killed early Saturday morning when his vehicle struck the barrier wall around I-20 east and H.E. Holmes. "Around 6:20am today a vehicle traveling east on I-20 approaching H. E. Holmes left the roadway and struck the barrier wall," said Atlanta Police Department spokesman Officer John Chafee. "The driver was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene." Chafee said the accident is under investigation. The driver's name has not been released. "No one else was in the vehicle other than the driver and this appears to be a single vehicle accident," Chafee added.

Atlanta police, seeking help in identifying the suspects in a Dec. 29, 2011, Cascade burglary, released a surveillance video and incident report earlier in the week. APD officials spoke to Thursday night's NPU-T meeting.
Partnerships between NPU-T and the Atlanta Police Department are reducing crime in the area, according to a area zone commander who spoke to the organization on Thursday night. "The reduction in crime in this community is due, in large part, to your organization being diligent and alerting our department to areas of concern," said Major Rodney Bryant, commander of zone 4, which encompasses most of Cascade. "That's what it takes. It pays dividends. "And I get more e-mails from this NPU than any other." NPU-T's monthly meeting was held at Kipp Strive Academy. Suspect, 15, is being held on murder and assault charges.
Atlanta police have arrested a 15-year-old male in conjunction with last weekend's Altoona Place triple shooting left one victim dead. The suspect has been charged with murder, aggravated battery and was served with three warrants, including murder, aggravated battery and aggravated assault, said APS spokesperson Officer K.Y. Jones. The suspect is being held in the Fulton County Juvenile Detention Center. In the early morning hours of March 3, "police responded to 440 Altoona Place in reference to a persons-shot call," said another APS spokesperson, Curtis Davenport. One person is confirmed dead in a southwest Atlanta shooting early Saturday morning. "Police responded to 440 Altoona Place in reference to a persons-shot call," said police spokesman Curtis Davenport to Patch. Three individuals were found shot on the scene, and one - a 15-year-old female - died on the scene. The other two victims "are listed in stable condition," Davenport said.
