Randolph Elementary Leads Fulton County Title I Distinguished Schools List

The school has earned Adequate Yearly Progress for 13 years—more than any other school in the district.

  Randolph Elementary School in near south Fulton is leading the Fulton County Schools' list of schools making three or more years of Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) and earning the Title I Distinguished Schools designation, according to a news release from the district. Randolph is also on a much smaller list of Fulton Schools receiving a monetary award for remaining on the list for 10 or more years. Randolph —which is within the Cascade Patch boundaries—and nearby Stonewall Tell earned awards at $3,060 and $2,295, respectively. All Three Fulton Schools in Cascade Patch Make AYP

Randolph Elementary, Sandtown Middle and Westlake High all made the annual performance goals set for Georgia schools.

All three Fulton County public schools in Cascade Patch met the annual academic standards set by the state, according to a Cascade Patch review of the 2011 Adequate Yearly Progress Report released Wednesday by the state board of education. A. Philip Randolph Elementary, Sandtown Middle School and Westlake High School all made this year's list, which ultimately can affect everything from property values to how much federal funding a school district receives. Of the 37 APS schools in Cascade Patch on Georgia's Adequate Yearly Progress Report released today, 56 percent did not meet the state's annual performance goals.

Just under half the Atlanta Public Schools in southwest Atlanta met the annual academic standards set by the state, according to a Cascade Patch review of the 2011 Adequate Yearly Progress Report released Wednesday by the state board of education. Twelve elementary schools, three middle schools and only one-third of one high school within the general Cascade Patch boundaries made the list, which ultimately can affect everything from property values to how much federal funding a school district receives.
