Atlanta Tech Selects Fulton County Chairman John Eaves as 2013 Commencement Speaker

Atlanta Technical College anticipates having the largest crowd ever for their commencement, with full seating capacity of 4,500. Friday, May 17th.

Atlanta Technical College Receives 200K Bank of America Grant

College's foundation will use funds to help students pay for tuition, books, other supplies.

Bank of America Corp.'s charitable foundation awarded the Atlanta Technical College Foundation with a grant that the combines leadership training and $200,000 in unrestricted funds toward its mission. The award, part of Bank of America's Neighborhood Builder program, highlights high-performing nonprofits that have made a significant impact in the bank’s priority funding areas of housing, jobs and hunger relief. Since 2004, Bank of America has invested more than $165 million through the program, recognized over 730 nonprofits and trained nearly 1,500 nonprofit leaders. Atlanta Tech students awarded Hank Aaron Chasing the Dream Scholarships

In addition to demonstrating high scholastic aptitude, applicants had to submit an essay explaining why they should receive the scholarship and how it will aid them in completing a technical education.

Video: Jesse Jackson Urges Students at Atlanta Tech to Make a Statement on Monday and Vote in Mass

Jesse Jackson visited students from Atlanta Technical College on Friday and asked them to rally to vote on the 1st day of early voting, Monday.

Jesse Jackson visited Atlanta Technical College to speak to students about organizing themselves to take advantage of Early Voting in Georgia on Monday, October 15th. Jesse Jackson said that he wanted to, "see a line wrapped around the building (on Monday)."  Make a statement, organize your class and flood the downtown early voting poll center in mass.  Jackson told the students, that they will "make the news," and the whole country will see how serious you are about taking control of your futures. Over 100 students gathered in the auditorium to hear the message and cheer with excitement from hearing the legendary civil rights hero speak directly to them.  Many signed up to join Rainbow PUSH, Rev. Atlanta Technical College joined the nationwide festivities, hosting “A Voter Registration and Education Blitz,” last week.

On September 25, thousands of voters celebrated the inauguration of a new holiday — National Voter Registration Day (NVRD) — in a massive effort to register voters in all 50 states before Election Day. Atlanta Technical College joined the nationwide festivities, hosting “A Voter Registration and Education Blitz.” The nonpartisan event was held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Academic Building on the campus located at 1560 Metropolitan Parkway, SW.
