Shooting Leaves Man Dead on Sidewalk on Beecher and Cascade Avenue
Police found a homicide victim on the side of the road near Cascade Avenue Saturday night.
Atlanta Police have released the identification of the body found on the sidewalk of Beecher Street near Cascade Avenue on Saturday night. He was identified as Jerome Rice, age 25. The young man was shot multiple times and left for dead just after 8 p.m. Saturday evening, according to WSB-TV. Although there has not been an immediate connection to the Family Dollar Store that is around the corner, customers within the store were some of the first people to report hearing gunshots. Neighbors in the area said the sound of gunshots is a common occurrence, so much so that people rarely call the police or go outside to investigate the gunfire.
