US Attorney General Eric Holder Speaks at Clark Atlanta University on Thursday

Holder will speak on "Rights and the American Polis - Prospects for the Future."

According to a late annoucement seen on Clark Atlanta University's website, US Attorney General Eric Holder is scheduled to speak at Clark Atlanta University on Thursday at 11:30am. Clark Atlanta University (CAU) will welcome United States Attorney General Eric Holder Jr. as orator for its inaugural President's Lecture Series in Davage Auditorium, 223 James P. Brawley Drive, S.W. Holder will speak on "Rights and the American Polis - Prospects for the Future." The event is free and open to the public. Rev. Joseph Lowery Inspires Clark Atlanta Students to Fight Voter Suppression and Vote

Joseph Lowery spoke about voter suppression laws at Clark Atlanta University's 2012 Convocation Ceremony on Tuesday, September 18th.

The 91 year-old Civil Rights legend, Reverend Dr. Joseph Lowery was the keynote speaker at Clark Atlanta University's 2012 Convocation on Tuesday morning.  The Historic Black College that sits in the shadow of downtown Atlanta greeted Dr. Lowery with a thunderous clap as he entered the gym and took his seat on stage. Dr. Lowery spoke of how and why this election is crucial.  He said that there are forces that are trying to take away, "everything we have fought and died for."  The so-called voter suppression laws that are on the books in over 30 states, are intended to "bring us back," he said.  Bring us back to the old days when the poor and blacks had less political power.  Joseph Lowery was able to give first hand stories of how it was …
