C.T. Martin of District 10 to hold Public Meeting on the new Family Dollar Store coming to Cascade

A Public Meeting will be held Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Questions still are prevalent about the new big Family Dollar store that is being built on Cascade Road, and whether or not it is needed and wanted. Councilman C.T. Martin's office (District 10) said that they will be having a public meeting on about the new business and peoples concerns at 6:30 p.m., at the Adamsville Rec Center. The Family Dollar at Benjamin E. Mays and Cascade Rd. has already put up the brick veneer, and continues to grow and grow. A Cascade Patch reader said: It is over-sized for the neighboring businesses of Cascade Heights Village and that very crowded intersection will not support the traffic it may bring! Family Dollar Store coming to Cascade. Do we Need Another Family Dollar in SW Atlanta?

Family Dollar spending $750k to build its newest store on Cascade Rd.

Our friend, Caleb, from WhatNowAtlanta.com has reported that Family Dollar is spending roughly $750k to build a new store at 2324 Cascade Rd. The report states that this is part of a larger expansion that Family Dollar is completing throughout the country, after seeing large profits the past year. But, do residents want or think we need a Family Dollar in the middle of Cascade Road, near Benjamin E. Mays?  There is already one near West End Mall, and some believe these stores bring crime with them. One of our Cascade Patch readers sent me a personal email in opposition to another Family Dollar, instead she would rather see a Whole Foods or Trader Joe's... THATS THE MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION SADIE !!! There will be a few but historically when we shop at businesses in general we put no thought into who we empower.....and then as was stated earlier or in another forum certain income populations shop where they can because of economics and with that in mind Family Dollar may be on to something that is very diffucult to stop.   more ›
