After a number of short weeks renovating, SWOOM Market is back.
SWOOM Market is a local farmers market in SW Atlanta, located at 779 Atwood Street as part of the Atwood Community Gardens. SWOOM Market takes place every week on Thursdays, but has recently been closed due to renovations and improvements being made. The following is a statement from the organization, inviting the community to return this Thursday. SWOOM Farmers Market will return on Thursday, October 11th. Thank you for your patronage this season. It has been a heartwarming experience and we look forward to the upcoming weeks. Please go to www.votemyfarmersmarket.org during American Farmland Trust’s 4th annual America’s Favorite Farmers Markets™ contest and nominate your local farm. SWOOM is on the list, but I have not seen Truly Living Well Farms, so go ahead and nominate them or another Farmers Market that you use. The summer long competition aims to see which farmers markets can generate the most votes from their customers. Ready to get some fresh fruits and vegetables?
Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday, FultonFresh Mobile Farmer's Market makes it way to the parking lot of The Shrine of the Black Madonna to delver some of the regions best veggies and fruits to the community. FultonFresh is part of an initiative to help neighborhoods in "food deserts", to get access to fresh foods. The program will continue through August and until September 5th.
