Happy Father's Day Event: African Drum and Dance

Thank You to all the Fathers that nuture, protect, and compliment our strong families.

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads, and father figures throughout the Cascade and Southwest Atlanta area. As a son, I know we do not say it nearly enough, but your love and guidance is extremely appreciated and well received. If you are still looking for things to do for your Dad, here are 2 special things that you can do that are close by and relatively inexpensive.

Father's Day Gift Ideas - D'Lor Salon & Spa Foot Massage

Treat your Father like a King for the day with a special treatment from D'Lor Spa off of Cascade Rd.

Still looking for that last minute Father's Day Gift?  Well if your Dad is anything like me, then he probably has a few aches and pains that he doesn't complain about and never shares. Granted, I am not yet a Dad, but I know most of us men are begging for a little pampering and a good foot massage, we just do not tell anyone about it. Some dads might not be a massage sort of guy or a person that is going to get a facial and a manicure, I probably would not either, but I bet he would love a foot massage and be willing to sit for 30 minutes while one of the lovely ladies from D'Lor Salon & Spa rub his feet back to life. I think this would be the perfect Father's Day gift, and it is pretty cheap.  D'Lor is located right behind the Applebee's …

Happy Father's Day to All the Great Dads in Our Community

Post pictures on Cascade Patch today of your father and other great fathers in our community. Happy Father's Day, Daddy!

Happy Fathers Day to my Father, Pediatrician Booker Poe, a part of this great community since 1969, and Happy Father's Day to all the great Dads! Cascade Patch wants to encourage everyone to post tributes to their fathers or great fathers they know. We will start with this picture of a well-known southwest Atlanta father of four and grandfather of 15, former WXIA-TV Reporter Maynard Eaton (he now lives downtown, but raised his kids in this community). Here he is interviewing another famous dad: Michael Jackson. Have any great pictures of fathers in our community? Post them today and, again, Happy Father's Day!

Cascade Fathers Say They Treasure Moments More Than Gifts

Sunday is the 101st Anniversary of Father's Day. Some Cascade fathers share their special moments.

For about a decade, Larry Moss lived the life of a single dad raising two children in a southwest Atlanta home. Thrust into the unexpected role, Moss found himself facing a serious challenge – raising a daughter. “I had to figure out how to get her hair done,” Moss said. “I would go to the park and look at girls’ hair trying to figure out how it was done. There were parents there who probably thought I was a pervert.” With Father’s Day on Sunday, Moss recalls special moments such as finally figuring out how to comb his daughter’s hair and learning how to cook food his 7-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter would eat.  “It’s good that people recognize the roles fathers play,” Moss said. The idea for Father’s Day was conceived in that very …
