Fulton County Health and Human Services Answers Call to Action to Reduce Health Disparities
April is National Minority Health Month. This year’s theme, “Health Equity can’t Wait: Act Now in Your CommUNITY!”, is a call to action and unity for the nation to get involved and invested in reducing health disparities. Since 2009, Fulton County Health and Human Services has been providing integrated services to residents in an effort to address health disparities and assist them with living healthier lifestyles. “Fulton County continues to address health disparities that affect some of our communities more than others,” states Patrice A. Residents are invited to the session to provide input about access to healthcare in Fulton County.
Fulton County Health Services will host three “Community Listening Sessions” to provide valuable information about the many high quality services available at the county’s community integrated health centers and to learn from the community about their service needs. Each session will begin at 6:00 p.m. and take place: Thursday, March 21st Adamsville Regional Health Center Community Room 3700 M.L. King Jr. Drive, SW Atlanta, GA 30331 The public is invited to voice their comments about Fulton County Health Services. All citizens, including youth, are urged to participate in the sessions. Oak Hill Child, Adolescent and Family Center located at 2805 Metropolitan Parkway is set to re-open.
Children and parents who live in Fulton County, and specifically in SW Atlanta, can breathe a little easier this Thursday after the re-opening of the Oak Hill Child, Adolescent and Family Center. Fulton County Health Services will be holding a Grand Opening celebration at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 7, 2013, to dedicate the newly renovated Oak Hill Child, Adolescent and Family Center There are a number of questions about how to effectively address childhood disparities such as behavioral health issues, obesity, asthma, and literacy within our community.
