The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) and South Atlanta High School’s Law and Social Justice Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA) will co-sponsor a resource and career expo Tuesday, Oct. 9, in Atlanta. The expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Rosel Fann Recreation Center, located at 365 Cleveland Ave. The expo will feature a number of employers, educational institutions, and resource agencies that provide assistance to job seekers. The employers will be hiring or discussing current and future employment opportunities, while other organizations will provide education and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings. …

The Georgia Department of Labor’s South Metro Career Center, located at 2636-14 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. in Atlanta, will be closed again during the week of September 10th.
Update: The Georgia DOL office located on Martin Luther King is closed all week. The GDOL claims it will reopen on Friday, September 14th. The MLK office has been closed since August 20th. The Georgia Department of Labor’s South Metro Career Center, located at 2636-14 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. in Atlanta, was closed Monday, Aug. 20, due to water damage and will be closed again on Tuesday. Staff members at the career center will be assigned to other GDOL locations. The center will be listed as "day-to-day" until he issue can be fixed, according to Wayne Mack of the GDOL. GDOL’s South Metro Career Center to remain closed, but scheduled mandatory EUC and REU workshops will be held as planned. The Georgia Department of Labor’s South Metro Career Center, located at 2636-14 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. in Atlanta, will remain closed to the general public through Friday, Sept. 7. However, it is important for customers who have workshops scheduled in Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) and the Reemployment Unit (REU) to keep their appointments and attend the scheduled workshops at the South Metro Career Center.
