Mays and Westlake High Schools Aim To Close Out Football Season In Style

Raiders prep for playoffs, clinch No. 3 seed with win over Chamblee; Lions look to finish at .500 versus Langston Hughes.

As the curtain falls on another high school football season, one team in the neighborhood is preparing for an encore performance, while the other hopes to bow out gracefully with a standing applause in their final act. Tonight, Mays High School (7-2) suits up for the finale of the 2011 regular season with their playoff position in tact and hopes of maintaining its hold on a No. 3 seed. The Raiders will clinch this spot with a win over visiting Chamblee at Lakewood Stadium. Game time is slated for 8 p.m. Mays looks to bounce back after being blanked on the road at Marist 24-0, which dropped it to third place in Region 6-AAAA.
