Two Overnight Smash & Grabs - 1 at Greenbriar and 1 in the West End

A beauty supply store and a pharmacy were both hit overnight.

Two business owners and customers of their southwest Atlanta businesses are waking up to broken glass today, as their storefronts were broken into overnight.  Atlanta Police say that both crimes were by the same person or group of people. According to APD, the Master Beauty Supply store on Headland Drive was attempted to be robbed first.  It was around 2:30 a.m., according to police reports, that the responding officers saw, "a beige minivan backed into the front doors of 3031 Headland Drive SW."  Witnesses told the officers that they saw the suspects flee in a black vehicle, but had no other information.  The beige Chrysler Towne and Country found in the front door was used to gain access to the business, and police say it had been …

Early Morning Smash & Grab at Foot Locker on Metropolitan Pkwy

Thieves drove a stolen vehicle through the window of the Foot Locker on Metropolitan, Monday morning.

Early morning thieves targeted the Foot Locker located in the 2600 block of Metropolitan Parkway on Monday morning for a "smash & grab" using a stolen Dodge to break their way into the store and steal as much as possible. On 1/28/2013 at approximately 0250 hrs. Zone 3 units responded to a burglary in progress at 2640 Metropolitan Pkwy. (Foot Locker), which was called in by a security guard working across the street at the Dialysis Clinic.  Upon their arrival zone 3 units observed substantial damage to the front of the business and a Dodge Intrepid abandoned in the parking lot.  The business alarm was still audible. Early Morning Smash & Grab at CVS on Cascade Rd.

A truck rammed into the front of CVS on Cascade Road early Tuesday morning.

CVS located in the 2200 block of Cascade Road is recovering this afternoon after a smash and grab attempt early Tuesday morning. According to police, a pickup truck rammed into the front glass doors at the CVS, busting the windows and portions of the brick facade at about 6 a.m. The police were able to track down the vehicle used and a brief chase through the neighborhood ensued. The police chase ended on Beecher Street near Cascade Road after striking a car.  The driver of the truck, Sydarius Andrews, fled on foot, but is now in police custody. He has been charged with over 10 crimes and is currently in Fulton County Jail. The CVS store manager and employees denied any comment on the the incident.  The store is currently open, as crews …

UPDATE: Extensive Damage To J&J Beauty From Smash And Grab

Hair weaves were among the stolen items.

  Atlanta police are investigating a smash-and-grab incident that happened early Wednesday morning at J&J Beauty Supply in Cascade. Fox5Atlanta is reporting that police believe someone drove a U-haul truck into the storefront and stole about $2,000 worth of hair weaves. CBS Atlanta is reporting that a store surveillance video shows the burglar stuffing hair pieces into a box before leaving on foot. J & J Beauty Supply is located at the Sylvan Plaza in southwest Atlanta. The store's owner, Joy Kim, told CBS Atlanta that repairing the store will cost thousands of dollars.
