A kindergarten student from Adamsville Elementary has the APS Spotlight on her this week because of her smarts.
Naija Dubose, a kindergarten student at Adamsville Primary has made the APS Student Spotlight this week for the academic smarts she showcases everyday. Talk Up APS is a blog run by Atlanta Public Schools to highlight everything APS related. In a post this week, they detailed why they have chosen Naija Dubose of Adamsville Primary as one of the leaders of the week: Naija Dubose is an exemplary Kindergarten student in Ms. Bivings’s class at Adamsville Primary Elementary School. She excels academically in all content areas, in addition to possessing a warm and nurturing spirit. She displays honorable character traits among her peers in her classroom and around the school. Cascade Patch recognizes the accomplishments of 3 local students this week.
The Atlanta Public Schools blog, Talkup APS, has just released its Student Spotlight of the Week article in which students from M.A. Jones Elementary, Parks Middle, Boyd Elementary, and Toomer Elementary were all given acknowledgment for their recent school accomplishments. M.A. Jones Elementary Jada Mumphrey, a 5th grader from M.A. Jones Elementary is said to be, "an exemplary citizen and student. This soft spoken and kindhearted individual excels in all that she does." She has been a honors student since the first grade, and her teachers say she is a model student. “It is simply a joy to be able to work with Jada,” explains Jada’s teacher, Ms. Robin Holloway. Cascade Patch wants to congratulate 2 local students that were featured on the Atlanta Public Schools website for their recent exceptional performance. Finch Elementary and Young Middle School both had representatives this week that made the APS spotlight. Devean Terriquez, from Finch Elementary likes science and has completed science projects, but his favorite subject is math. “Math is everywhere,” says Devean. “If I’m good at math, I’ll be good with my money as I learn to make lots of it, save it, and help my family.” Young Middle School eighth grade scholar, Cameron Giles, spent his formative years matriculating at Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy (S.A.C.A.) and West Manor Elementary.
