Beltline.org Highlights their SW Atlanta plans ahead of Transportation Referendum

The Transportation Referendum vote is July 31, in which the Beltline and other projects will be on the table.

The Atlanta Beltline Blog recently posted a "close-up" look of the Beltline project and what they intend to do with the SW portion.  The Atlanta Beltline is a combination of rail, trail, green-space, and housing. It plans to ultimately connect 45 in-town neighborhoods, provide first and last mile connectivity for regional transportation initiatives, like MARTA. The West End neighborhood is pretty much on the most westerly side of the Beltline.  The plans are to create a station with shops and green-space a few hundred feet away from the Kroger shopping plaza.  This light-rail transit would then travel north and connect directly to a new MARTA station at Boone Blvd. (near Washington Park)  We can obviously see pros and cons to having the …
