Weekend Crime Updates - 50 year-old Man Fatally Shot
One shooting death reported over the weekend in SW Atlanta.
The first weekend of 2013 saw 1 fatal shooting in the area, according to the Atlanta Police Department. Approximately at 2:40 p.m. Sunday on Mellview Avenue, 1 male was fatally shot in the neck by 2 individuals. The victim was 50 years old and was seen walking with 2 younger males, when one supposedly pulled out a weapon and shot the man once in the neck. The suspects took off running and fled, according to police in a SUV, "possibly a Chevrolet Suburban with dark rims. It was last seen traveling south on Metropolitan Parkway." No arrests have been made at this time. Individuals with any information are asked to call the Atlanta Police and offer information anonymously.
