Oprah Winfrey follows up Michelle Obama as Spelman College's 2012 Commencement Speaker.
On Sunday, May 20, at 3 p.m., global media leader and philanthropist Oprah Winfrey will inspire over 550 graduates when she delivers the commencement address to the Spelman College Class of 2012. Last year's Spelman class was blessed by the words of First Lady Michelle Obama. According to a recent press release Oprah Winfrey will receive the institution’s National Community Service Award. Known for her (Oprah Winfrey) focus on improving the lives of others through various charitable initiatives, education is at the heart of Ms. Winfrey’s philanthropic efforts.
