ReplyOur last bid for the Andrew Breitbart autographed poster was $650! WOW! And what would liberals give for an autograph of Nancy Pelosi? $1.37?

On the Blog Post My Liberal Oscar Picks for 2013

ReplyAn update: Best Documentary will go to How to Survive a Plague instead of Searching for Sugarman. Since making my picks last night, I've since learned from my liberal wife that the plague movie is about AIDS and it's all the Republicans' fault, and not that people taking responsibility for their behavior. How to Survive a Plague will narrowly beat out The Invisible War, which involves rape in the military, two of Hollywood's favorite subjects. I'm taking the plague movie because AIDS is closer to the hearts of the 6,000 lefties who vote the Oscars. The miltiary is a foreign experience to them, so rape in the military doesn't mean as much as AIDS.

ReplyOne more: I will give Amanda credit that she has the guts to put her real picture and name online. She may be miswired, but at least she has the character to be who she really is online. I respect that. I have zero respect for the cowards who can't say who they really are. What would be fun is actually sitting down with Amanda and having coffee. We would never agree, and we have no common ground, but in the sense of a verbal boxing match, it would be fun.

ReplyJeffrey: I seldom read beyond the first few comments anymore because they spin off into orbit so fast. But your comments are thoughtful, so you deserve a response. Straight up: I used to think that one could deal with everyone on a thoughtful level. That's still true, even for most liberals, but unfortunately, there are the Amandas of the world who must be treated with verbal sledgehammers because that's all they understand. People like her mean us harm. They view the constitution -- especially the Second Amendment -- as an obstacle to their goal of socialist domination. When I was in Afghanistan in 2011, I finally had the time to read "Rules for Radicals" by Saul Alinsky (Hillary Clinton studied with him; Barack Obama became a disciple). It was an eye-opener. In retrospect, I wish I had read it decades earlier. This book is the bible of the left and for bullies like Amanda. Their ultimate goal in engaging in debate is to force their opponents into positions of derision and ridicule. They are not interested in discourse as they pretend to be. They are only interested in discord. I ignore 90 percent of her comments because they're not worth my time. But unfortunately, we have to counter her nonsense because there are many people who never answer blogs but read them. And a nutty charge like hers could stand in the mind of a reader if it goes unanswered. Please come to our meetings. They're always the first Thursday of the month (We had 125 last week). Amanda is welcome as well.

ReplySorry Amanda, your nutty comments have gone too far, even for you: All of our meetings are free and open to the public. Always have, always will. We've even had some of the now-defunct occupiers at our meetings (they behaved themselves, so they are welcome to return). We have open mic nights. We welcome people as they enter and leave. We have won many converts in the community. (We had about 125 people last night). And I hate to say this, but even you are welcome to attend.

ReplyGREAT meeting tonight (even humorless libs would have enjoyed it)! Since you weren't there, he is my opening line as emcee: "It's so cold back East that even Obama is putting his hands in his own pockets." Should have been there!

Normally, I ignore the whackjobs who respond to my blogs. But for Hughie? I'll make an exception because yet another one of his fibs is beyond galling. I was a journalist for 20 years, including five as a columnist. At no time did I ever apply for his job -- and why would I want the job a disgraced and fallen hack? I never read any of his columns until somebody pointed out his bogus one in 2010 to me. And when they did, I contacted the editor (I think it was Frank Pine), who quickly agreed to my op-ed. The Sun ran it immediately after I wrote it. The paper even told me they would run it before I had completed it. I think this is the Sun's way of admitting they had an issue on their hands with Hughie on staff. If the Sun didn't run it, I was going to contact Dean Singleton in Denver and demand to know why the Sun did not fact check its columnists and why it allowed such racist filth into one of his papers. In retrospect, this was the right approach because it exposed Hughie for the journlistic fraud he was before readers and peers. And despite his cyberstalking and disturbing behavior since 2010, I'm glad I wrote the op-ed then because it exposed Hughie for exactly what he is now: A bully and race-baiter.

Normally, I ignore all the nuts who respond to my blogs. But for the race-baiting hatred of Hughie, I'll make a rare exception to again out him on yet another one of his outlandish lies. I was a reporter for 20 years, including five as a columnist. No way I would ever want the job of a washed-up hack. I never applied for his job and I never wanted it. The only column of his I ever read was the tea party one because somebody had pointed it out to me. I contacted the editor immediately (I think it was Frank Pine) and he agreed to run my op-ed (what was so surprising is how fast the Sun ran it after I wrote it, so it sounds like Hughie's bosses realized they made a mistake by allowing Hughie to run with such a bogus column). If the Sun didn't print my response, I was going to contact Dean Singleton in Denver and demand a response for one of his papers allowing such racist filth into one of his papers. I also anted to know why nobody at the Sun had bothered to fact checked Hughie. In retrospect, the op-ed was the right approach because it exposed Hughie as a liar before his peers and readers. His lies in print rank him right down there with the journalistic disgrace of Janet Kent Cook, Jayson Blair and Jack Kelly. Why in the hell would anybody want to follow any such disgrace? And despite Hughie's cyberstalking since 2010, I would still have written the same op-ed then because it exposed Hughie for exactly what he is: A race-baiter and a bully.

Oh! We will be circulating a "Taxed Enough Already" petition which we will present to the Redlands City Council.
