ReplyI called yesterday and was told all tours were pretty much booked already. We were able to get in the Utoy Creek tour so I would suggest calling the venue itself instead of the preservation center. They tried to sell me a membership for NEXT year. Lol

ReplyThere are a lot of troops selling in the Cascade area. Out girls will be at the Kroger near I285 on Friday beginning at 3 and at the Chic-fil-A at Greenbriar during lunchtime this Wednesday and Friday. The cookie app is great to find locations and businesses can contact the Girl Scout Council if they want girls to set up a booth or visit their offices for individual sales.

ReplyI always used to think I needed to be scared or on the lookout when I'd hear SW Atlanta. Then I figured out how big the area is and stopped. So I agree this was a good idea.

On the article Walmart Broke Ground on their Newest Supercenter coming to Cascade Road - Did You Know?

ReplyWe fight valiantly against this store and the county commissioners denied permits and tried to lower the square footage. Walmart retaliated with multiple lawsuits and eventually the GA Supreme Court declined to hear their appeal. So they are coming, but it was not easy for them. I didn't want more traffic on Cascade Rd! It will hurt the other businesses as people try to avoid that already horrible intersection.

ReplyI am okay with kids walking to school. However, when there are no sidewalks and the area is crime ridden, APS needs to rethink that. It is good opportunity for neighbors to band together and get to know one another as they get their kids to school

ReplyThis is a very difficult site to navigate! I finally got registered but there wasn't any info on where to borrow the equipment. I thought maybe I should just show up and they'd have it but that didn't make sense. How would REI know what to bring? So I called the REI store and found all the equipment has already been reserved. If you don't have equipment they'll gladly rent it to you at this point. I think they said they had 75 available to borrow and they are all gone.
