Take One Step to Stop Diabetes

In recognition of World Diabetes Day, the Diabetes Community Action Coalition of Fulton County (DCAC) invites you to “Take One Step to Stop Diabetes”, on November 14, 2013 from 1:00 p.m until 3:00 p.m, at the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library: Washington Park Branch located at 1116 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, Atlanta, GA 30314.

“Take One Step to Stop Diabetes” is free and open to the public. Those with a family history of Diabetes, have been told that they have Prediabetes (Borderline Diabetes), or had Gestational Diabetes during pregnancy will want to attend and learn more than 50 ways to prevent Type 2 Diabetes. In addition, the workshop will include:  

How to “Dance Away Diabetes” with Zumba Fitness Instructor, Lawanda “The Fitness Diva”  

How to Prepare Healthy Snacks

The Risks of Smoking, and Secondhand Smoke and Diabetes  

Finding in Person Assistance to Enroll in the New Health Insurance Marketplace 

The first thirty (30) participants willing to “Take One Step to Stop Diabetes” will receive the "Small Steps. Big Rewards. Your GAME PLAN to Prevent Type 2 Diabetes” kit.

Refreshments will be served.
