Free Health Fair Oct. 10 at W. Hunter Baptist - Flu Shots, Women's Healthcare, etc

Free flu shots, haircuts, healthcare services/screenings will be offered at West Hunter Street Baptist Church, October 10, 2013 from 10 am until 2 pm.  Located at 1040 Ralph David Abernathy this community collaboration between SPARC, SWEEAC and West Hunter Street Baptist Church brings sorely needed free health and hygiene care to the Historic West End community.

Services are free to the uninsured and include immunizations for influenza. women’s health services including clinical breast exams as well as mammogram and Pap test referrals.  Licensed doctors, health professionals and licensed barbers will be on site to perform these services.  Screenings for blood pressure, colon health, STD/HIV, vision, BMI will also be performed.  Services are available to any and all, free of charge to the uninsured.

Information booths regarding Medicare, employment services, nutrition, dental health and food stamps will also be on site.  All services are provided free of charge and practicing physicians will be available, in person, to answer any and all questions.

This event is at West Hunter Street Baptist Church, 1040 Ralph David Abernathy in the Historic West End of Atlanta.  Free fruits and vegetables will also be available to all following their health screenings.  For more information contact Office of Aging at:  404-613-6000.

SWEEAC (Southwest Ecumenical Emergency Assistance Center) is located on the West Hunter Street Baptist Church campus and is a joint effort of 13 churches of 7 denominations, operating as a food and clothing bank in the Historic West End of Atlanta.
