Convicted Cascade Killer Gets 2nd Life Sentence

Ronald Fisher is already serving a life sentence in prison for a murder conviction for shooting 17 year old Eddie Shaheed in 2005.

You may recall, in 2005 Eddie Shaheed was walking with friends along Cascade Avenue when another group of men and Fisher started a fight with them.  Police officers say that the victim, Shaheed turned his back, and was shot in the head by Fisher.

According to the AJC, the wrong person was arrested for the crime and at the time Fisher was not arrested.  The case actually stayed cold until 2011, when new evidence pointed to Fisher as the gunman.  Fisher was already in prison after a 2011 conviction in a 2009 killing.

On Thursday, September 26, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney sentenced Fisher to a life term to run consecutive to his other life term for the 2005 murder along Cascade.
