SUV Crashes Into a King Middle School Bus, 7 Students Taken to Hospital

Cascade Patch has just confirmed that 7 King Middle School students were transported to the hospital for a precautionary evaluation after their school bus was involved in a traffic collision on Wednesday morning.

Witness accounts say that the accident happened on Fulton Street, near their school, at about 10 a.m.

According to Atlanta Public Schools Office of Communications, "preliminary reports show the SUV pulled out from a parking lot and into the roadway in front of the bus, causing the accident. The driver of the SUV has been charged. The school bus driver was not charged, but will be sent for routine drug screening."

APS reports that there were 20 students on the bus, and "seven of the students were transported to the hospital for evaluation."

The remaining students were taken to school.
